Can Rafols del Caus, owned by Carlos Esteva (Head of the International Wine Academy) is a special winery with even more special wines. Carlos Esteva pushes the limits of wine production and creates the most unique wines of highest quality.

This Rosé wine is a perfect example of his genius. Produced using 100% Merlot grapes, this gastronomic rosé is simply sublime.

Dry and soft in the mouth, the wine is full of delicious impressions of fresh red fruit, such as strawberry and raspberry. On top of that, the rosé is perfectly in balance thanks to the perfect amount of acidity you will find. 

This is the type of rosé wine that holds up next to a nice piece of fish but also fits perfectly with tasty tapas bites. A rosé of high quality and with a nice storage potential!

Can Rafols del Caus

In 1979 Carlos Esteva decided to take over his grandfather’s estate, Can Ràfols dels Caus. His early experience with viticulture was gained on the island of Menorca in the 1970s. When he took charge of the family domain, he decided to dedicate himself only to the production of wines of quality, with body and soul, and with respect for the characteristics of the surrounding landscape and the architecture within a sustainable scope.

The return of Carlos Esteva in the Garraf was nothing short of a revolution: not only did he begin the impressive task of restoring the noble but dilapidated masia left by his grandfather(traditional Catalan farm), but he had to also completely regenerate the agriculture of the vineyards. On top of that he decided to introduce many new varieties of grapes and growing methods.

It was a real gamble to produce quality wines with a unique character that would give a real identity to his winery.

Now, with several decades of experience in the wine world behind him, Carlos Esteva has proved himself many times over and continues to stand out for his broad culture in this sector. No wonder he has been appointed head of the prestigious International Academy of Wine. Oh yea, and most of his wines can also be found in the top 3 star Michelin restaurants across the world.. 

On top of all this, because of his need to diversify: not satisfied with the creation of some twenty references at Can Ràfols dels Caus – both wines and Cava’s – he has directed many other projects such as Mas Öller in the Empordà and Can Camps, a small estate that distinguishes itself through its wine that is produced from vineyards located in the middle of the Natural Park of the Massís del Garraf.

Discovering his wines is definitely worth it and almost a privilege!
