Roble is the Spanish word for "oak wood". And Bodegas use the term to describe their young wines which have been aged 6 months in oak barrels.
The Roble from Bodegas Monte la Reina is exceptional.
The wine is full-bodied and powerful, filled with impressions of ripe dark red fruit such as berries and cherry, and supported by beautiful tannins for a nice balance. In the finish you will find the result of the 6 month aging in oak barrels. Simply lovely.
A must try if you are a fan of Spanish reds!

Bodegas Monte la Reina
Bodegas Monte la Reina is a young, modern and dynamic winery, composed of a multidisciplinary team that is willing to give the best of themselves to offer the best product to their clients. They believe in innovation and do everything in their power to realize improvements in their projects that have satisfied customers all over the world for more than 30 years.
The winery is half buried on a hill to combine the aesthetic purposes with the technical aspects to achieve optimal temperature control for the different processes.
At Monte la Reina, they only pick a selected number of grapes at optimal maturity and handle them with the utmost care. This improves the aromas of the wine and its color, and emphasizes the delicacy of the taste. The process from the field to the final customer is therefore thoroughly supervised.
Thanks to optimal environmental conditions and clay soils (mixed with an occasional sandy surface for some zones and stony and dry ones of others), along with adequate management of vegetation and production, grapes are produced with high concentration, high maturity, optimal alcohol levels and filled with ripe flavors.
The quality of the grapes and the careful selection thereof enables Bodegas Monte la Reina to use a large number of combinations to produce excellent wines from the varieties Tinto de Toro and Verdejo.
