Dodice Lune, Barbera d'Asti Supériore
• Grape Variety: Barbera
• Taste Profile: Full-Bodied & Powerful
• Food Pairing: Game Meats or Red Meats
• Occasion: Dinner or Special Occasion
The red wines from the Piedmonte wine region in Italy are mainly produced using their local Barbera grape. The Barbera d'Asti Supériore DOCG is the top wine produced from this grape variety in this region. The wine is aged for a minimum of 6 months in oak barrels and another 6 months in the bottle!
This Barbera d'Asti Supériore from the Ghiga Brothers is very promising. Richly filled with ripe dark fruits such as cherries and plum, with slight impressions of cacoa and leather, all finished with a nice oaky support. The wine is powerful and full-bodied, yet refreshing in taste with a very pleasant acidity and is blissfully finished by nice tannins and a long finish.

Azienda Agricola Enrico Ghiga
Since his 16th birthday, Enrico has been passionate about the family farm, especially the viticulture. When he was finally old enough, he started his dream project: continue his grandfather’s old profession and set up a new and modern winery.
Enrico graduated in viticulture – oenology at the “Enologica” School of Alba. As soon as he finished his studies, Enrico launched himself into developing the family’s estate, began to cultivate the company’s grapes and produce the classic wines of the area.
In 2010, major investments were made in the winery to modernize the production process, to become more competitive and to guarantee stability in quality. 2010 was also a very important year for the Ghiga Company, when it officially launched its new labels and introduced their line of wines, especially the famous Moscato d’Asti DOCG. Many eyes were on them..
But it didn’t take long before the first recognitions. Only 2 years later.. Today, the wines of the Ghiga brothers can be found in many corners of the world.
Currently Enrico Ghiga is just over 23 years old and is flanked by his brother Davide (who is now also a student at the Enological School of Alba). Enrico is in charge of the technical part (with the cooperation of his brother and an external oenologist) and together they are responsible for the commercial side, as well as the general management of the company.
The brothers are working daily on the cultivation of the vineyards, the production in the chai, the commercial promotion and the constant search for new customers, so that the company can continue its growth and share its fantastic wines with the entire world.
